Habitat for Humanity of the Middle Keys partnered with Affinity Modular and authorized builder Keys Contracting Services to help two families achieve the dream of homeownership through an innovative approach to construction. When project timelines became a priority, Habitat transitioned from traditional block construction to modular construction, allowing the homes to be completed on an accelerated schedule without sacrificing quality.
Completed in just nine weeks, the project showcases how modular construction can provide an efficient, dependable solution when time matters. Each home features two bedrooms, two bathrooms, site-built decks, stair access, and elevator entry between the buildings, combining thoughtful design with lasting craftsmanship.
Originally planned as a conventional block construction project, the homes were redesigned as modular homes to meet an accelerated construction schedule. Building the homes in Affinity Modular’s climate-controlled manufacturing facility allowed construction to take place while site work was completed simultaneously.
This streamlined process helped reduce the impact of weather delays, improve scheduling efficiency, and deliver a high-quality finished home in significantly less time than traditional construction methods often allow.
Every Affinity Modular home is constructed to the same state and local building codes as comparable site-built homes. By utilizing advanced manufacturing techniques, experienced craftsmen, and rigorous quality inspections throughout the building process, each home is built with precision before being transported to its final location for installation and completion.
Once delivered, Keys Contracting Services completed the site work, final connections, decks, and finishing touches, bringing the project together seamlessly.
